Classic Game Room - WOODY WOODPECKER mobile review
Woody Woodpecker review. Classic Game Room reviews WOODY WOODPECKER from Universal and Chillingo for iPad. Woody Woodpecker is a "sliding down the hill to gain speed and jump off the other side" kind of game with gameplay similar to numerous other titles but with a Mario Kart inspired race mechanic that allows players to compete against the iPad or other people online. Woody Woodpecker the video game for mobile devices is very fun and playable by all ages but lacks some originality as game play is nearly identical to other popular titles like Tiny Wings. Choose from Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy and more as you skate or slide down hills and charge up your turbo boost to beat your opponents across the finish line. Good, affordable, family friendly fun can be found in this pick up and play videogame for iPad. CGR Woody Woodpecker video review has Woody Woodpecker gameplay in HD from iPad.

Woody Woodpecker Show - The Tree Medic (1955 & HD)
The Tree Medic is the 65th animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically on December 19, 1955, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International. A tree surgeon halts his car in front of a hollow tree in the forest and hangs up a sign saying, "Doctor Is In." He commences to operate. The tree, however, is Woody Woodpecker's home, and he's rudely awakened by the noisy surgeon's drill. Determined to protect his home, Woody jams a cake pan over the drill, which the surgeon tugs at furiously, to no avail. But when Woody removes the pan, the doctor stumbles backward onto a tree stump and into the jaws of an irate squirrel. The doctor proceeds to treat the tree with repeated intervention from Woody, who proceeds to have his revenge in classic cartoon style. Woody kicks the doctor into a bird's nest after ruining a root-reflex test. Woody blows up his stethoscope tube with a bellows. Woody accuses the doctor of being a "peeping Tom" after the doctor's tree-photograph proves to be one of glamour gal Marilyn Monroe (woo-woo!). When the doctor takes a pot shot at Woody, he hits a passing duck instead, and Woody drives up in a sheriff's car to bonk him for hunting out of season. Woody also treats the tree surgeon to a falling anvil and egg in the face (twice!). After an unsuccessful attempt to lasso Woody, the doctor tries to saw the tree down, only to saw his own ladder in half, from which he crashes ...

Woody Woodpecker Show - Helter Shelter (1955 & HD)
Helter Shelter is the 59th animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically on January 17, 1955, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International. Woody is happily singing "Home! Sweet Home!" after building a brand new birdhouse until neighborhood dog Happy sets fire to the woodpecker's domicile. Frustrated, Woody builds a second birdhouse, only to have it thrown over the side of a mountain by a malicious Happy. Soon, it begins raining, and Happy takes refuge to his owner's home. The kindly mother Phoebe takes the dog in, but her towering husband Claude complains that she is letting the wet dog into the house. A soaked Woody then knocks on the door as well, and Phoebe takes pity on the drenched woodpecker. Claude, who openly declares "I hate animals!" angrily inquires, "What is this: a zoo?!" He then storms off to bed. Only moments after Happy and Woody try to get some sleep, Claude begins sleepwalking and works his way right into the refrigerator. This leads to a series of mishaps resulting in Happy getting booted out of the house repeatedly. Finally, Claude's bed ends up landing in the basement, and he quickly accuses Happy (who tried to saw off the ground on which Woody's bed stood, but Woody himself replaced it with the couch on which Claude was sleeping). The frantic dog rolls up the saw he used, and hides it in his mouth. Woody then comes up behind him, asks "Hiya, pal! What's new?" and ...

Woody Woodpecker Show - Stage Hoax (1952 & HD)
Stage Hoax is the 40th animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically on April 21, 1952, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International. Woody Woodpecker, tired and perspiring, is walking down a dusty road of the old West carrying a heavy suitcase. Hearing a stagecoach approaching, he stands in the road thumbing a ride, but the stage passes him by in a swirl of dust. He opens his suitcase, which contains an assortment of artificial limbs used to display women's stockings, wigs, dresses, etc. Woody transforms himself into a young woman by putting on artificial limbs, a wig and a dress. Wally Walrus, driver of a stagecoach, approaches Woody in the road. Woody coyly lifts his skirt to display the shapely limbs. Wally quickly stops the stage, and Woody enters. Woody, in the coach's dining room, orders a sumptuous meal from Wally, now dresses as a waiter. Woody's wig falls off. Wally realizes his mistake, and he hands Woody a check for $30. Woody and Wally argue over the price, and Wally pulls a lever, which ejects Woody over the stagecoach roof. Woody jumps from the stagecoach and runs away. Woody then drives the stagecoach and meets the real "Buzz Buzzard the Bandit" astride a horse. Buzz forces Woody to drive to his hideout cottage. Woody, again disguised as a woman, causes Buzz's heart to flutter as he hastens to put his house in order, dress in "full dress and silk hat," and get ready to ...

Woody Woodpecker Show - Rough Riding Hood (1966 & HD)
"Rough Riding Hood" is the 146th animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically in 1966, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International. Woody is reading the tale of Little Red Riding Hood... and soon finds himself living the fable when a sobbing Red confronts him, telling him how a mean wolf has been bullying her on her entire trip to Grandma's. Woody plans to get even with the fiendish (and totally stupid) wolf by swapping places with her and going to HIS Grandma's. The wolf stops Woody carrying an apple pie and demands, "Let me have it" (Needless to say, he gets it alright!). Woody then offers the wolf a plum pudding (actually a beehive). The wolf takes a "shortcut" to get to Granny's first but Woody is on to his scheme leading him into several nasty spots (a water geyser, an eagle's nest, and a phone booth which blasts into orbit like a rocket). Woody arrives at Granny's and takes Granny's place finally getting rid of the wolf at last. Alas, when he tells Granny they're rid of that wolf, she angrily tells him, "For thirty years, I've been trying to MARRY that wolf" and gives the woodpecker a good spanking!

Woody Woodpecker & Andy Panda Show - Knock Knock (1940 & HD)
Knock Knock is a 1940 animated short subject, part of the Andy Panda series, produced by Walter Lantz. The cartoon is noted for being the first appearance of Woody Woodpecker, and was released by Universal Pictures on November 25, 1940. The cartune ostensibly stars Andy Panda (voice of Sara Berner) and his father, Papa Panda (voice of Mel Blanc), but it is Woody (voice of Blanc) who steals the show. The woodpecker constantly pesters the two pandas, apparently just for the fun of it. Andy, meanwhile, tries to sprinkle salt on Woody's tail in the belief that this will somehow capture the bird. To Woody's surprise, Andy's attempts prevail (comically, the mound of salt placed on Woody's tail is so heavy that he cannot run away), and in an ending very similar to 1938's Daffy Duck & Egghead, Woody is taken away to the funny farm—where his captors prove to be crazier than he is. Like most of the early 1940s Lantz "cartunes", Knock Knock carried no director's credit. Lantz himself has claimed to have directed this cartoon, although more recent information has indicated that Alex Lovy was the actual director[2][3]. The cartoon features animation by Lovy and Frank Tipper, a story by Ben Hardaway and Lowell Elliott, and music by Frank Marsales. Knock Knock was Marsales' final score for Lantz. As the first appearance of Woody Woodpecker, Knock Knock is also the first cartune to feature Woody's trademark laugh, a gurgling cackle voice artist Mel Blanc had been perfecting since high ...
